Pakistani cricketer Shadab Khan has joined the Punjab Police. The Punjab Police authorities confirmed the matter on social media X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday. Shadab has been appointed as Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), the statement said. At this time, the top official of the state police was present. Usman Anwar.
But fans have nothing to be disappointed about. Shadav is not giving up cricket. He has only been appointed as the brand ambassador of Punjab Police. Earlier, pacer Haris Rauf, Shaheen Shah Afridi also got this special honorary post of police.
The statement further said that Shadab has been briefed about the work of various police departments after his appointment. Shadab expressed his excitement to be a part of the provincial police, ‘It is an honor for me to be the brand ambassador of Punjab Police through IG. I am glad to be a part of Punjab Police.’
Shadab is out of the national team due to injury. A day ago in a press release, Pakistan’s chief selector Wahab Riaz said that leg-spinner Shadab will not play in the T20 series against New Zealand.
Wahab Riaz said, ‘Shadab Khan is a very important player for Pakistan T20 team. Unfortunately (during the national level T20) he injured his ankle. It will take another two weeks for him to recover. After that he can return to bowling.’
