Primary and secondary schools in Rajshahi have been declared closed due to increasing severity of winter. Rajshahi District Primary Education Officer and Rajshahi Region Deputy Director of Secondary announced this holiday on Saturday night.
In a letter signed by Dr. Sharmin Ferdous Chowdhury, deputy director of secondary education in Rajshahi region, it is said that all secondary educational institutions of Rajshahi were declared closed on January 21 and 22 when the temperature dropped below 10 degrees Celsius.
Meanwhile, Rajshahi District Primary Education Officer Saidul Islam said, ‘Primary schools will be closed only on Sundays. If the temperature remains like this, tomorrow will be announced again.
According to Rajshahi Meteorological Office, Rajshahi recorded the minimum temperature of 9.8 degrees Celsius on Saturday morning. The highest temperature recorded on this day was 21.6 degrees Celsius. However, the temperature dropped to 12 degrees Celsius at 10 pm. In the next 7 days, the day temperature of Rajshahi will decrease, said the Directorate of AoHawa.
