Saudi Arabia and Russia, two OPEC plus countries, have emphasized on increasing cooperation to keep oil prices stable. Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed this issue in a meeting with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on his visit to Riyadh on Wednesday. This information was reported in the report of the news agency Reuters.

Regarding the meeting, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said cooperation between OPEC Plus will continue. On the other hand, Riyadh said that Saudi Arabia and Russia are working together for the interests of the people of the world, including the Middle East.

Besides, the Gaza issue and Ukraine war were discussed in the meeting. Meanwhile, Putin called on Mohammed bin Salman to visit Moscow in the next meeting. Earlier, the Russian President went to the United Arab Emirates and held a meeting with the country’s President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Earlier on Wednesday, Russian President Vladimir Putin began a tour of the Middle East amid the Gaza war. Since war between Israel and Hamas broke out on October 7, Putin has criticized US policy in the Middle East and has pushed for ties with Arab allies and Iran, as well as with Hamas.

The International Criminal Court (ICC) has issued an arrest warrant for Putin on war crimes charges stemming from the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war. Due to this, his foreign travel has been limited. Russia, however, has denied the war crimes allegations and called the ICC’s action offensive. Neither Saudi Arabia nor the UAE are members of the ICC. As a result, there is no danger of Putin being arrested in both countries.
