An accident occurred at the concert of musician Anupam Roy. At one point of overcrowding, the gate was broken in a hurry. 4 to 5 people were injured. The incident took place around 7 pm on Saturday (December 30) at the Deganga Book Fair held at the Veenapani school grounds in West Bengal. The book fair had to be closed due to the pressure of the crowd.

On this day, many visitors broke the barricade and entered the premises of the book fair. Even the adjacent Taki Road was blocked for an hour. The concert was eventually cancelled.

According to the organizers, thousands of people from Deganga and surrounding areas turned up to listen to Anupam’s music. The crowd swelled to such an extent that the barricade broke under pressure. About 30,000 people came.

Tusharkanti Das, the main organizer of the book fair told Hindustan Times, ‘Thousands of people came to listen to Anupam’s songs on this day. Accidents happened because the audience couldn’t hold back the emotions. The injured were immediately taken to the hospital.

It is known that Deganga Book Fair started again this year after being closed for 11 years. And on this occasion cultural programs were organized every evening. Arrangements were also made for tickets. However, on the day of Anupam’s concert, the dam was flooded with people.

In this case, naturally, the question of Anupam-fans – how is the singer now? According to the organizers, Anupam is healthy. The flame of unrest did not reach him.

Meanwhile, Anupam Roy gave a post on Facebook after this incident. There he wrote, ‘Sincere love from our side to every Deganga resident. Today’s incident is very unfortunate. But we’ll be back to get a full taste of the craziness that promises to be, even remotely, a glimpse of today. Very soon we will meet on a bigger field. The fair authorities will announce the date of the next concert. So don’t be upset at all, raise your hand.’
