On the occasion of Great Victory Day on December 16, the movement of vehicles plying on the National Memorial route from Dhaka to Savar will be controlled. Such an instruction has been given on Thursday by the traffic department of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).

DMP said, on the occasion of Great Victory Day, the President, Prime Minister, Speaker of the National Assembly, Chief Justice, Cabinet members, Members of Parliament, diplomats of foreign countries, high-ranking government officials and leaders of various organizations will pay their respects at the National Memorial from 4 am on Saturday.

For that reason, the DMP has requested the buses, minibuses, trucks, lorries and other big vehicles plying on that route from 3:30 PM on Friday to 9:30 AM on Saturday to avoid Gabtali Aminbazar Bridge-Savar Road and use alternative routes.

Alternative road

  • All vehicles will move through Dhaka Airport Road-Abdullahpur Crossing-Ashulia Road.
  • Dhaka city bound vehicles from Aricha via Aminbazar will ply from Nabinagar Bazar via Ashulia.
  • Dhaka-bound vehicles from Tangail via Ashulia will ply via Kaliakair-Gazipur intersection-Tongi.

In this regard, Dhaka Metropolitan Police is seeking the full cooperation of respected city dwellers, vehicle owners and workers.
