The traveling court has fined 90 thousand rupees to two rice traders of Comilla’s Chakbazar for various irregularities including excess stock, not showing price list, sale and purchase receipt at high profit.
This campaign was conducted with the help of Comilla District Food Department on Wednesday to prevent the upward market of rice.
The traveling court fined two companies a total of Tk 90, including excess stock in addition to M/s Prashant Enterprises and Tk 40,000 to M/s Prashant Enterprises.
District Food Controller Subir Nath Chowdhury, District Administration Assistant Commissioner and Executive Magistrate Soumya Chowdhury, Upazila Food Controller Adarsh Sadar were present at the time. Anwar Hossain, food inspector Kamrul Hasan, Md. Law enforcement forces including Iqbal Hossain, Naeem Bhuiyan, Samir Debnath, Salma Afroz, Mahmuda Akhtar.
In this campaign, the rising rice market will come under control. Also, the officials expect that the price of rice will remain stable in the month of Ramadan.
Executive Magistrate of Comilla Deputy Commissioner’s office Soumya Chowdhury said, ‘Market monitoring operation will continue. The administration is strict against those who try to hoard illegally.
District Food Controller Subir Nath Chowdhury said, ‘Those who store food illegally are doing very wrong. Their information has been collected. We will conduct continuous operations against these hoarders.
