BNP has postponed the filing of reports against 473 people, including secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and member of the party’s standing committee Mirza Abbas, for planning and inciting attacks on the police. The court has fixed February 8 as the date for submitting the report.

Thursday was the day for submitting the investigation report of the case. But as the investigating officer of the case has not submitted the report, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Rajsh Chowdhury set a new date for submitting the report.

According to the statement of the case, on the afternoon of December 7, 2022, BNP leaders and activists clashed with the police in front of the central office of BNP. One person was shot and killed. Many were injured. At that time, the police claimed to have found rice and pulses, water, cash and explosives in the BNP office.

In this incident, 473 people were named and 150 to 2000 BNP leaders and activists were accused. Mizanur Rahman, sub-inspector of Paltan police station, filed the case as the plaintiff.
