Ekushey Academy Australia celebrated Bangladesh’s Great Victory Day in the Hall Room of Ashfield Civic Center in Sydney. This event took place on December 17 at 4 pm local time.
Under the chairmanship of the president of the organization, Engineer Abdul Matin and moderated by the general secretary, Rawonak Hasan, a minute’s silence was observed at the beginning of the program to pay respect to the martyrs of the Liberation War in 1971.
The heroic freedom fighter Enayetur Rahim Belal and the heroic freedom fighter Qaiser Ahmed gave a speech commemorating the liberation war and glorious victory. Dr. discussed about the liberation war of Bengali pride, the great victory day and our actions. Lovely Rahman, Dr. Qayyum Parvez, Dr. Abdul Jalil and Shafiqul Alam.
In the discussion session, fiction writer Shakhawat Nayan read from the book “Ekattarer Dinguli” written by Martyr Janani Jahanara Imam. Children’s writer Anila Parveen recited Helal Hafeez’s poem “Ekta Flag Pele”.
In the second part of the program, the members of the children and youth cultural organization “Kishloy” performed national songs and dances. Amiya Matin, Lily Gomez, Abhijit Barua, Piasa Barua, Sujan, Benjamin Gomez, Sultana Noor, Shahidul Alam and Chaya Biswas performed patriotic songs under the direction of Ekushe Academy’s own cultural group ‘Abhiyatri’. Mithu Barman accompanied on tabla.
The event was attended by poets, writers, journalists and members of Sydney’s social and cultural organizations. Dr. among others.
