A petrol bomb attack has taken place at the house of Prof. Abul Hossain, the nominated candidate of Jatiya Party for Rajshahi-5 (Puthia-Durgapur) constituency. The miscreants carried out the attack on Wednesday (December 13) around 11 pm. However, there was no casualty or damage.

According to the police and eyewitnesses, two young men threw petrol bombs at Abul Hossain’s house on a motorcycle and ran away. The bomb fell on the gate of the house and caught fire. At that time the people of the house came and extinguished the fire. A motorcycle was kept at the gate. However, there were no casualties or damage. Later the police officer went and inspected the spot.

Professor Abul Hossain said that this attack may have been carried out to scare them away from the election. I am not afraid of it. I will be in the polling field with the people, inshallah.

Saidur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Rajshahi’s Puthia police station, said that the police officers visited the spot after receiving the information. Evidence of petrol bomb was collected from there. Police have started investigation to identify those involved in this incident.
