Putin is getting the latest news about the concert hall attack, Peskov says

Russian President Vladimir Putin is receiving the latest news regarding Friday’s attack in a concert hall on the outskirts of Moscow, which claimed dozens of lives, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters. Putin has not yet commented on the events, writes TASR with reference to AFP and Russian media.

“The president is constantly receiving information from all relevant services about what is happening and the measures being taken,” Peskov said, adding that Putin learned about the event within minutes.

According to the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation, shootings and explosions at the Crocus City Hall concert hall left at least 40 dead and more than 100 injured. The identity and motive of the perpetrators are not yet known.

As a result of the attack, they canceled public events for this weekend in Moscow, St. Petersburg and many other cities.

The independent Russian portal Meduza reported that the social networks Telegram and VKontakte have extensive outages in Russia after the attack.
