Prohibition on movement of vehicles on the occasion of election, circular issued

On the occasion of the 12th National Assembly elections, a ban on vehicular movement has been issued on January 6 and 7. Besides, motorcycle movement will be closed for three days from January 5 midnight.

These things have been informed in the circular of the Ministry of Home Affairs about the deployment of law and order forces in the elections. According to the circular issued by the public security department of the ministry, the armed forces will cooperate with the civil administration in the upazila and thana areas as per the advice of the returning officer.

As mentioned in the circular, the law and order forces will be responsible for maintaining the peace and order of the polling station or polling station as per the demand of the returning or presiding officer. Checking will be done through metal detectors at important polling stations.

No smoking, no carrying inflammable materials including matches, lighters in the polling station area. Besides, the use of electric heaters and stoves inside the polling stations is completely prohibited.

According to the circular, the movement of taxicabs, microbuses, pickups, trucks, launches, engine-powered boats has been banned in the constituency from January 6 midnight to January 7 midnight. And from the midnight of January 5 to the midnight of January 8, the movement of motorcycles is prohibited in the electoral area.

Besides, the circular prohibits the carrying and display of legal weapons till January 9. 48 hours before and 48 hours after polling, processions, meetings and processions cannot be held.
