Awami League general secretary and bridge minister Obaidul Quader said, ‘Awami League has suspended a program in Dhaka because permission was not received.’ Obaidul Quader, the general secretary of the party, said these things at the press conference of the political office of the Awami League president in Dhanmondi in the capital on Tuesday afternoon.
The general secretary of Awami League said about BNP’s black flag march, ‘Why black flag march? Awami League will not take responsibility for their failure. Such programs are anti-people. Such programs are a deep conspiracy against the march of democracy. If this anti-people program is not suspended, then we also have to stay on the streets for the sake of peace. Law and order forces will take action if public safety is disturbed.
Obaidul Quader said, ‘Programs against public interest will not be tolerated under any circumstances. will be strongly resisted.’
Referring to the statement made by the United Nations based on wrong information about the detained BNP leaders, Kader said, ‘Should they be released without trial if they commit a crime? BNP’s demand of detention is baseless. Crime must be prosecuted. Law will run at its own pace. I urge those who have made statements to look into the facts.’
Obaidul Quader said, “There are various political agendas behind the publication of reports by institutions like TIB. These reports are slandered to protect someone’s interest. I don’t care about these things.’
Quader said, ‘Today is a history-making auspicious day for the democracy of Bangladesh. The first session of the twelfth Parliament is today. Market regulation is a tough challenge for the government today. The new parliament will work to face this challenge.
Obaidul Quader said, ‘There is no perfect democracy in any country in the world. There is no such thing as an absolutely error-free election. We do not claim that our democracy will be flawless overnight. However, it was a challenge to keep democracy alive by confronting domestic and foreign conspiracies.
Quader commented that the Independent Election Commission has maintained its independence by completing this election independently.
