Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is sitting with the secretaries for the first time after winning the election for the fourth consecutive term and forming the government.
Several officials of the Cabinet Department said that the secretary meeting of the Prime Minister’s office will be held today at 9:30 am on Monday. Secretary meetings used to be held in the secretariat. Since the regular meetings of the Cabinet are now held at the Prime Minister’s office, the secretarial meeting is being held there.
Syed Mahbub Khan, additional secretary of the coordination department of the cabinet department told the media, not on any specific agenda; The Prime Minister will discuss various issues with the secretaries.
According to the website of the cabinet department, there are currently 87 officials at the level of secretary and senior secretary. They are handling the responsibilities of various ministries as well as various government departments, authorities, commissions and corporations and other institutions.
It is known that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will emphasize the implementation of the election manifesto of the new government in today’s meeting. Each ministry will be asked to take swift action in implementing the Awami League’s election manifesto-related work. In this case, he will instruct the concerned minister and secretary to work in coordination.
In today’s secretary meeting, the issue of price control in the coming Ramadan may get special importance. It is said that he will emphasize on the duties of the field administration officials to control the market. Apart from this, specific instructions may come in the meeting to control corruption in health, agriculture and food sectors. This directive will be effective from upazila level.
