Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is going to Gopalganj on her first visit as the head of government after the formation of the new government. He left for Gopalganj by road from Dhaka at 9 am on Saturday.
The information was given in the press wing of the Prime Minister.
Awami League formed the government for the fourth consecutive time after winning the 12th parliamentary elections. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is going to Gopalganj on Saturday after taking charge as the head of the government.
On reaching Tungipara, Bangabandhu will first pay her respects at the father of the nation’s tomb. He will exchange greetings with the leaders and workers of Tungipara Upazila Awami League in the afternoon of the same day. Local leaders and workers are happy around the Prime Minister’s visit.
Gopalganj District Awami League General Secretary GM Sahab Uddin Azam said, ‘If Bangabandhu’s daughter takes charge of Bangladesh, the country will move forward.’
Deputy Commissioner Kazi Mahbubul Alam said that all preparations have been completed to make the Prime Minister’s visit smooth. He said, ‘We have completed proper preparations in coordination with all concerned including the law and order forces to make the Prime Minister’s visit festive and safe.’
The Prime Minister will return to Dhaka by road after exchanging greetings with the leaders and workers of Kotalipara Upazila on Sunday. Members of the new cabinet and members of parliament may be part of his visit.
