Prime Minister congratulates the new Emir of Kuwait

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina congratulated Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on being the new Emir of Kuwait. This information was given today in a circular of the press wing of the Prime Minister.

In a signed letter addressed to the new emir, he said, ‘On behalf of the people and government of Bangladesh, and on my own behalf, I am very pleased to extend my heartiest congratulations to you on your assumption of office as the Emir of Kuwait.’

The Prime Minister said that your ascension to this highest position is proof of the confidence of the fraternal people of Kuwait in your prudence and dynamic leadership. He said, since the beginning of our diplomatic relations in 1973, Bangladesh and Kuwait have been enjoying excellent bilateral relations.

The head of government said, ‘Our bilateral cooperation is based on the foundation of brotherhood and friendship which has expanded over many years in various fields including human resource recruitment, trade, investment, development, defense and energy cooperation.

Expressing his satisfaction with the existing relationship, he said, ‘At the moment of assuming your new responsibilities, I assure you and the people of Kuwait of continued support and cooperation from the Government of Bangladesh in the days to come.’

Referring to his people-oriented and visionary leadership displayed while serving in various important positions in the country, the Prime Minister said, ‘I am confident that under your guidance and supervision, our two brotherly countries will be able to enhance the existing relations to the desired level by accelerating and strengthening them in all areas of bilateral and multilateral engagement. .’

The Prime Minister wished the new Emir continued good health, happiness and success and looked forward to working closely with him to build a common future of progress and prosperity.
