Several houses were attacked, vandalized, shops closed and looted in Gunaigacha Union of Chatmohar, Pabna. Union Awamig president Nurul Islam Gong is alleged to have caused the incident on Sunday night and Monday morning after the 12th National Assembly elections.
Amin, Ahsan, Moynal of New Para village, Amud Ali of Ramchandrapur village were injured in the attack. Panic spread in the area. Several have left their homes out of fear. 5/6 houses of Naw Para village were attacked.
According to locals, Nurul Bahini did not allow nearly 200 voters of New Para and Ramchandrapur villages to vote. After the vote, Amin’s house was attacked and looted. Meanwhile, Amin and Ahsan were injured. Several things were looted. The house of Moynal, a Bantu boy of the new village, was attacked and beaten up. It has been alleged that Amud Ali of Ramchandrapur village was abducted and subjected to extensive physical torture at Ramchandrapur intersection. Besides, the houses of Moize Master, Hasan Master, Bantu and others were attacked. Injured Amud Ali and Amin Chatmohar are undergoing treatment at Upazila Health Center.
Note that the attackers are supporters of the boat symbol. It is alleged that they looted this attack immediately after the news of the boat’s victory.
Injured Amin and Ahsan said, “Union Awami League president Nurul Islam’s army Kalam member, Nurul’s son Alam, Jahangir and several others are causing terrorist attacks, looting and looting.”
Rajab Ali Bablu, Chairman of Gunaigacha Union of Chatmohar admitted the incident of house attack, looting and beating and said, ‘After the attack, the people of the area are in fear.’
The accused Union Awami League President Nurul Islam called several times on his mobile phone to find out about this, but there was no response.
Chatmohar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Salim Reza said, ‘Police have been sent after receiving information about the incident. The area is quiet. I have not received any written complaint so far. Action will be taken if complaints are received.’
