Chief Election Commissioner Kazi Habibul Awal said that polling will be held in the suspended center of Mymensingh-3 (Gouripur) constituency on January 13. He gave this information at a press conference at Agargaon election building in the capital today on Monday afternoon.

At that time, the Chief Election Commissioner said, ‘41.8 percent of votes have been cast in this election.’

Earlier, on Sunday, the polling of the center was stopped due to allegations of irregularities.

It is known that at the last minute of the end of the polling, around 4:30 pm, the center of Valukapur High School No. 40 of Sahnati Union of the upazila was occupied, vandalized and the ballot box looted.

As a result, the announcement of the result of Mymensingh-3 entire seat was stopped due to the irregularity of one centre.

In Mymensingh-3 (Gauripur) constituency, Nilufar Anjum received 53 thousand 196 votes in 91 out of 92 polls on the boat symbol, while his nearest rival Somnath Saha got 52 thousand 211 votes on the truck symbol.

Although the boat is ahead, the result of one center is canceled and the difference of votes between the rival candidates is less than 1000, so the result of this seat is suspended.
