People will put black on the faces of election boycotters by voting: Information Minister

Minister of Information and Broadcasting and Joint General Secretary of Awami League. Hasan Mahmud said that the people of the country will smear the face of those boycotting the election by voting in a festive atmosphere on the 7th.

He said that the entire people of Bangladesh are election-oriented today, there is a lot of enthusiasm among the people. This is a slap in the face of election boycotters and resisters.

On the occasion of Great Victory Day on Tuesday afternoon, he said all this at the road meeting at the beginning of the victory rally from Chandraghona Lichubagan in Chittagong to around 20 kilometers of Chittagong-Kaptai road to Tapvidyu Phatak area.

Rangunia Upazila Awami League organized this procession in more than 300 vehicles, hundreds of leaders and workers of parties and organizations and ordinary people participated.

Dr. Hasan said, ‘A worker does eight hours on duty and I give 16 to 20 hours. Waking up at eight in the morning and no sleep until two at night. As a shepherd, I do as much as your child.’

He said, ‘I request you, keep in mind the amount of development that has taken place in Rangunia and Boalkhali. On the 7th, they will go to the polling center with their mothers and sisters, wives, children and grandchildren, those who wanted to abstain from voting, we will put black ink on their faces by voting on boat marks, inshallah.’

Regarding the development of the country, he said, the success of father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s creation of the country and his daughter leader Sheikh Hasina’s management of the country is that today Pakistan looks at us and sighs, Pakistan now wants to be Bangladesh.

Highlighting the development of his constituency Rangunia Upazila and Boalkhali, the Information Minister said, ‘The entire Bangladesh has changed today under the leadership of People’s Leader Sheikh Hasina. 15 years ago it used to take morning to afternoon to go from one end of North Rangunia to another. Had to take potla along. The roads were in such deplorable condition that people’s backs hurt. And now any destination can be reached in maximum one hour.’

He said, ‘currently there is no difference between village and city boys and girls. Now TV-fridge, internet line in village house, these were not there before. These have become possible due to the leadership of public leader Sheikh Hasina.

Remembering the sacrifices of the people of the area in the liberation war, Awami League joint general secretary Hasan said that many people of Rangunia gave their lives in our freedom struggle. Many were shot dead standing on the banks of Karnaphuli river and their bodies were floated in the river. In Chandraghona, Pakistanis were tortured from camp to house. 1200 houses were burnt in one day in Padua Union. Many houses have also been set on fire in different parts of Rangunia.

Rangunia upazila chairman Swajan Kumar Talukdar, Abul Kashem Chishti among the leaders of Uttar district Awami League, Md. Shahjahan Sikder, Nazrul Islam Talukder, Md. Idrich Azgar, Muhammad Ali Shah, Kamrul Islam Chowdhury, Iftekhar Hossain Babul, Akhtar Hossain Khan, Shafiqul Islam, Abdul Monaf Sikder, Engineer Shamsul Alam Talukder were at the forefront of the procession along with the minister.
