Injured Nurul Haque Abdul Quader alias Abdul Quader (53) believes that people dressed as railway workers started the fire at Mohanganj Express in Tejgaon area. He said the miscreants were moving around in the compartment with fire extinguishers and talking.
He said these things while talking to DMP Commissioner Habibur Rahman on Tuesday.
Abdul Qadir is currently undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical. He has injury marks on his head and various parts of his body.
Abdul Quader said, ‘Mohanganj Express arrived at the airport early in the morning. Then the train left for Dhaka from the airport. Before Mahakhali arrived, two men dressed as railway workers were discussing fire extinguishing with their hands. As the train was in motion, there was no chance for them to get down from the train. I think they set fire and escaped through the side compartment. After seeing the fire, I jumped from the train in Nakhalpara area.
As to how the miscreants set the fire, with gun powder or something else, injured Abdul Quader said, ‘I did not see whether they set the fire with gun powder or anything else.’
Injured Abdul Quader also said that he was coming to Dhaka by Mohanganj Express from his village Netrakona. He lives in Tejgaon area of Dhaka. He is working as an administrative officer in the transport wing of Hamim Group.
It is to be noted that Mohanganj Express leaving from Netrakona was set on fire by miscreants in Tejgaon area and four persons including women and children died. The identities of two of them have been identified but the identities of the other two have not yet been identified. The bodies of the two, who have been identified, will be handed over to their families without post-mortem.
