While crossing the road in front of the BRTC counter of Banshal police station in the capital, he was hit by a Victor Classic passenger bus. A pedestrian named Yunus (49) died.
He was brought to the Dhaka Medical College (DMH) hospital with serious injuries at around 6:00 p.m. Today, the doctor in charge of the emergency department declared him dead after examination.
Pedestrian Sagar, who brought Yunus to the hospital, said, ‘A speeding Victor Classic bus hit the man while crossing the road under the flyover near the BRTC bus counter of Banshal police station. The person was seriously injured and was lying on the road. Later I rescued him and brought him to Dhaka Medical. Initially we did not know anything except his name.
Bachchu Mia, inspector in charge of DMK Hospital police camp, said, ‘The body has been kept in the morgue of the hospital’s emergency department. We have reported the matter to Bangshal police station. Two passers-by brought Yunus to the Dhaka Medical Center in an injured state. After being brought, the doctor declared him dead.
