Passenger bus caught fire in Ashulia

Miscreants set fire to a passenger bus in Ashulia’s Kabirpur. However, no casualties were reported in the incident. The incident took place at Kabirpur on the Nabinagar-Chandra highway at around 7 pm on Monday.

Citing eyewitnesses, the police said that a passenger bus of Itihasa Paribahan bound for Dhaka from Chandra in Gazipur was carrying 8 to 10 passengers on its way to Kabirpur area when it suddenly caught fire from the back seat of the bus.

Later, the driver quickly stopped the bus and tried to bring the fire under control and informed the fire service. Later, two fire service units from DEPZ rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control. But by then the bus almost burnt down.

Ashulia Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Muminul Haque said that efforts are being made to catch those involved in the incident and a case will be filed in the police station.
