Party-independent candidates are busy in election campaigns

Candidates for the 12th National Assembly election are busy campaigning immediately after the allocation of symbols. Along with Awami League candidates, independent candidates are campaigning equally. Voters are expecting fierce competition if the election is neutral.

Candidates in Chittagong election campaign in a festive atmosphere. Chittagong-11 Constituency independent candidate Ziaul Haque Sumon campaigned from EPZ Narikeltala of Port City. Meanwhile, Awami League nominated candidate Mohiuddin Bachchu started his campaign from Khulshi Hazrat Shah Sufi Syed Akram Ali Mazar of Chittagong-10 Constituency.

Retired Colonel Zahid Farooq, the candidate for Barisal-5 constituency, held a public rally in Barisal on the second day of campaigning. Rashed Khan Menon, president of Walkers Party of Bangladesh, candidate of the boat symbol of the 14-party alliance distributed mass communication and leaflets in Barisal-2 constituency. Apart from this, Awami League candidate S Eamon Kamal campaigned in Khulna-3 Constituency No. 2 Ward.

Boat candidate and Law Minister Anisul Haque campaigned in Kasba in Brahmanbaria-4 seat. Grand Alliance candidate, Jatiya Party Co-Chairman, ABM Ruhul Amin Hawladar is campaigning in Patuakhari-1 constituency.

Candidates of Awami League, independent and other parties started campaigning in 3 parliamentary constituencies of Manikganj. Manikganj – Awami League nominated candidate for 3 seats and Health Minister Zahid Malek did public relations throughout the day.

In the road meeting, Health Minister Zahid Malek highlighted the various developments made by the Awami League government in the last 15 years before the voters. He said, ‘A political party is killing people by setting fire to buses and trains because they don’t have public support.’

The minister said, ‘The game is not gathering as there is no strong opposition party in the electoral field. It would have been a little better if the opponent participated in the election and carried out the election program. There is nothing they can do if they reduce the publicity. After that, we are doing mass communication day and night to increase the voter turnout in the election without thinking of the opponent as weak.’

In various districts including Chapainawabganj, Natore, Habiganj, Myensingh, Jessore, Awami League and independent candidates, candidates of other political parties have started campaigning equally.
