Over 70 ambulance crews are responding to the terrorist attack in Moscow

More than 70 ambulance crews treated and evacuated victims of a deadly terror attack at a major concert hall outside Moscow, officials said. Gunmen attacked the Crocus Town Hall in Krasnogorsk on Friday night as people gathered to see a performance by rock band Picnic.

At least 40 people were killed in the rampage, Russia’s Federal Security Service said. Nearly 150 others were injured, according to a casualty list released by the regional health ministry.

Rescuers, together with firefighters, evacuated survivors from various parts of the building that were set on fire during the attack, including the basement and the roof.

Health Minister Michail Muraško said earlier that 115 people, including at least five children, had been hospitalized. He added that at least 60 adults and one child were in serious condition.

Deputy Prime Minister Taťána Goliková told reporters that most of the necessary operations had been completed and patients in need of intensive care had been transferred.

Moscow officials also asked residents of the city and region to donate blood. Aleksandr Khojayev, the health minister of neighboring Belarus, said Minsk was ready to send its doctors and medical supplies to Russia if necessary.
