The decision to withdraw from the use of the boat symbol in the upcoming upazila council elections is another defeat of the government, said the member of the BNP standing committee. Abdul Moin Khan. He said this in a discussion meeting at Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) on Tuesday morning.

Moin Khan, a member of the BNP’s standing committee, claimed that it was decided to remove the Awami League’s party symbol in the upazila elections due to the low participation of the people in the January 7 elections.

Moin Khan said that Awami League had a moral defeat in the farce election on January 7. Awami League came to power again without the support of the people.

Nationalist Ulama Party organized the discussion on the 89th birth anniversary of BNP founder Ziaur Rahman. The speakers in the meeting highlighted the contribution of Ziaur Rahman in the formation of Bangladesh.
