After 15 and a half hours of train derailment in Bankharia area of ​​Gazipur, train movement on Dhaka-Mymensingh railway line has been normalized. Trains started running on this route at around 7:30 p.m. today, Wednesday.

Dhaka Divisional Railway Manager of Bangladesh Railway Sofiqur Rahman confirmed to Independent Television that train movement is normal.

The derailed coaches will be kept at a safe distance beside the railway track and the derailed engine will be recovered, the official said. He said, with the combined efforts of all, rail communication was normalized 15 and a half hours after the accident.

Earlier, seven coaches of Dhaka-bound Mohanganj Express train derailed on the Dhaka-Mymensingh railway line at Bankharia village around 4 am today. One passenger died in the incident.
