The hanging body of Kamal Biswas (52), manager of Bijhari branch of Naria Development Association (NUSA) was recovered in Shariatpur’s Naria upazila. His body was recovered around 11 o’clock on Tuesday.

Kamal Biswas is the son of Kartik Biswas of Boalmari area of Faridpur district. He was the manager of Bijhari branch of Naria Development Association. The initial idea of the police is that Kamal committed suicide.

According to the police, the Nusa authority rented a branch office in the house of Nurul Islam Dhali in Bijhari area. Kamal Biswas sometimes lived in a room of that office. Sometime between Monday night and Tuesday morning at 7 am, he exposed himself with a ceiling fan. When the locals saw the matter and reported it to the police station, the police went and recovered the body of Kamal Biswas and sent it to Shariatpur Sadar Hospital morgue.

NUSA Joint Director Jaydev Chandra Kundu said Kamal Biswas joined the NGO two years ago. He was serving as the branch manager of Bijhari. It is not yet known whether it was suicide or murder.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Naria Police Station Mostafizur Rahman said that after the body was recovered, it was sent to Shariatpur Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy. I have not received any complaint in this regard yet. But our initial impression is that he committed suicide.
