A court sentenced a youth named Mahfuz Nissan to life imprisonment and fined 50 thousand rupees for carrying heroin in Natore. Another year’s imprisonment was ordered in default of fine. At that time, the court acquitted a person named Ibn Sina from this case.
Judge Amlan Kusum Jishnu of Natore Senior Sessions Judge Court gave this verdict on Monday afternoon. The convicted Mahfuz Nissan is the son of Mohammad Ali Panna of Rahanpur village of Gomstapur police station in Chapainawabganj.
PP Advocate Sirajul Islam of Natore Judge Court said that on the morning of January 13, 2022, the members of RAB-5, Natore Camp conducted a special operation to recover narcotics in Banpara area of Baraigram Upazila of Natore. At that time two people named Mahfuz Nissan and Ibn Sina were arrested along with 310 grams of heroin. A case was filed against the detainees under Narcotics Control Act at Baraigram police station.
Sirajul Islam also said that he gave this verdict today after taking the evidence of the case for two long years. Mahfuz Nissan was sent to prison.
