Nakul Kumar Biswas was the candidate for Madaripur-3 seat in the 12th National Assembly elections. He was elected from Krishak Sramik Janata League with towel symbol. But he got 263 votes in the national election held on Sunday. If a candidate does not get more than 8th of the total valid votes cast in any constituency, the candidate’s security is forfeited. Because of this, Nakul Kumar Biswas’ bail has been forfeited.
After the results announced by Deputy Commissioner and Returning Officer Marufur Rashid Khan, it was seen that independent candidate Tahmina Begum got 96 thousand 333 votes in Madaripur-3 parliamentary seat and was elected. His closest rival, Abdus Sobhan Golap of Awami League’s boat symbol, got 61 thousand 971 votes. Nakul Kumar Biswas got 263 votes on towel symbol.
Nakul Kumar Biswas official Facebook page has 19 lakh followers. Despite having a large number of followers on Facebook, local residents were surprised to receive so few votes.
A citizen named Arifur Rahman said, ‘He is a good voice artist. He sings about the beautiful Vyasa. I like his music. He is also a favorite artist of many like me. But it was not right for him to go to the election. No one thought that he would lose his security like this.’
Voice artist Nakul Kumar Biswas complained of irregularities in a video message on Monday. He said in a video message that he was not allowed to go to many polling stations. So he demanded re-election.
Deputy Commissioner and Returning Officer Mohammad Marufur Rashid Khan said that Madaripur had a fair and peaceful election. Nakul Kumar Biswas got 263 votes in the election. Calculating the votes received in his seat as per the election rules, it is seen that he has lost his security.
