A legal assistant (muhuri) of Madaripur court named Neshar Uddin Howladar (40) was killed in a Mahindra car crash at Kalkini in Madaripur. Protesting this incident, the angry crowd blocked the road and set fire to the Mahindra. Later, a police chase took place between the crowd over the incident of the deceased.
The incident took place in front of the house of lawyer Mizanur of Dakshin Rajdi village in the municipal area on the Bhurghata-Kalkini road around 10:30 am on Sunday.
The deceased was the son of deceased Kader Howladar of Paschim Minajdi village of Neshar Uddin Paur area.
According to police and local sources, Neshar Uddin left his home on Sunday morning on a motorcycle towards Madaripur Judge Court. On the way, when the lawyer left Mizanur’s house and reached the Bhurghata-Kalkini road, a Mahindra car came and hit Neshar’s motorcycle from behind. Neshar Uddin died on the spot. At that time, the driver left the Mahindra and ran away.
Kalkini fire service personnel got the information and recovered the dead body. Later, local angry mobs blocked the road and burnt the Mahindra. At that time, when the Kalkini police stopped them, the crowd ran back and forth with them.
In this regard, Additional District Superintendent of Police Alaol Hasan said that Neshar Uddin died after being hit by a Mahindra car. An angry crowd came and set the Mahindra on fire. The police reached the spot and brought the situation under control. At present the situation is normal. Police have been deployed at the spot.
