BNP mourned the death of Emir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah of Kuwait. Expressing grief, the party has decided to change its earlier announced strike on Monday and observe it on Tuesday.

Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, senior joint secretary general of the party, made this announcement in an emergency press conference on Sunday.

Earlier, BNP called a morning-evening hartal across the country on Monday in a virtual press conference on Saturday.

Earlier, BNP held a nationwide 36-hour blockade last week to demand elections under a non-partisan government. The blockade program will start from 6 am on Tuesday and will continue till 6 pm on Wednesday.

Amidst the attacks and clashes, the BNP held a morning-evening strike across the country on October 29 in protest against the Mahasambesh Pand Hall in Dhaka on October 28. After this, many top leaders including the party’s general secretary Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir were arrested.

Since then, ie since October 31, BNP has organized blockades and hartal programs on roads, railways and waterways.
