After spending 20 years in jail for murdering her four children, a mother has finally been acquitted in that case. The woman was acquitted on Thursday. This happened in Australia.
According to the news agency AFP report, the name of the acquitted woman is Kathleen Folbig. He was accused of murdering his four children in 2003.
According to the complaint, Folbig killed four children from 1989 to 1999. He was once considered one of Australia’s worst serial killers. However, after a 20-year legal battle, Fallbig was able to prove himself innocent. The court said that Falbig’s children died naturally.
An Australian court acquitted Fallbig on Thursday. She later told reporters, “I am grateful that advances in science have revealed how my children died.”
According to AFP, Fallbig’s children were between 19 days and 18 months old.
As scientific advances uncovered genetic mutations and birth defects, the true cause of death of those children was recently revealed.
Renowned scientists from different countries including Australia have researched these deaths. Falbig’s lawyer said that his client will be released from prison after 20 years at the end of this year.
