At first there were three of them. From three the number came down to 1. Mostafizur Rahman was the only Bangladeshi cricketer in the IPL auction today as Taskin Ahmed and Shariful Islam were not given clearance by the Bangladesh Cricket Board.
But as the auction progressed, teams snapped up one player after another, and fears grew over Mustafiz’s availability. However, last year’s champion Chennai Super Kings finally pulled Mustafiz into the team after all fears were overturned.
The base price of the Bangladesh left-arm pacer was Rs 2 crore. Chennai got Mustafiz at the base price as no one bid except Chennai.
