Monir stood aside by supporting Shahjahan Omar

In the 12th National Assembly elections, Awami League nominated boat symbol candidate M Shahjahan Omar in Jhalkathi-1 (Rajapur-Kantalia) seat and announced his withdrawal from his main rival eagle symbol independent candidate M Moniruzzaman Monir.

He announced this in a press conference at Muktijoddha Convention Center of Rajapur Upazila on Tuesday afternoon.

In the press conference, Monir said, I am consciously, voluntarily withdrawing from my election due to my personal reasons. At the same time, I request my well-wishers and respected voters that everyone must go to the center and vote for the boat mark in the upcoming 7th election. Moniruzzaman Monir urged the voters to support Sheikh Hasina in building a smart Bangladesh.

At that time, District Awami League General Secretary Khan Saifullah Panir and Upazila Awami League President Khairul Alam Sarfraz and others were present.
