Modi congratulated Sheikh Hasina over the phone

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has congratulated Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina over the phone for her historic victory in the elections for the fourth time in a row. The Prime Minister of India congratulated the people of Bangladesh as well as the head of government.

A post on India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s verified X account revealed the information on Monday.

Narendra Modi wrote in the post, “Talked to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and congratulated her for her historic victory in the parliamentary elections for the fourth time in a row. I also congratulate the people of Bangladesh for the successful conduct of the elections. We are committed to further strengthen our enduring and people-centric partnership with Bangladesh.”

Earlier, India congratulated Prime Minister and Awami League President Sheikh Hasina for winning the 12th National Parliament Election. Indian High Commissioner to Dhaka Prannoy Verma met Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at Ganabhaban on Monday.

The High Commissioner extended warm wishes and congratulations to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on behalf of the Government of India and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for her election victory. Meanwhile, Prannoy Verma expressed hope that in the new term of Sheikh Hasina’s government, the bilateral partnership will be stronger and grow in support of each other’s national development.
