Miscreants have set fire to the judicial magistrate’s court in Khulna’s Paikgacha. Although the documents of the assembly were not damaged in the fire, some parts of the court including the sitting place of the lawyers were burnt.

This incident happened on Wednesday morning. In this incident, an ASI and a constable of the police had to be closed in the police line.

Lawyers say that miscreants started fire by pouring inflammable substance inside the assembly room through the broken window of the assembly room.

It is known that early in the morning the worshipers saw the fire in the court while going to pray in the mosque. Later, the fire was brought under control with the help of those concerned. In this, the courtroom of the accused and the sitting place of the lawyers were burnt.

Khulna Superintendent of Police Mohammad Saidur Rahman said that the courtroom was set on fire from outside. This is done by miscreants to disrupt normal operations for sabotage purposes.

Deputy Commissioner Khandaker Yasir Arefin said, this incident has happened to obstruct the normal judicial process. The operation to nab the saboteurs continues.

Meanwhile, Paikgacha Police ASI Sohel Rana and Constable Moniruzzaman have been locked up in the police line. In this case, the preparation of the case is also going on.
