Mild cold current is blowing in different districts of the country

A mild cold current is flowing over various districts of the country including the northern region. Meteorological office says, such conditions will prevail for two more days. After that, the temperature will continue to rise for about a week. Mild to moderate cold spell may again occur in different parts of the country by mid-January.

Bajlur Rashid, meteorologist of Meteorological Office, said that mild cold current will flow in various districts of northern region including Dinajpur, Panchagarh, Chuadanga for at least two more days. Although after that the temperature will start rising a bit. However, in the middle of the month, there is a possibility of mild to moderate cold showers in different parts of the country.

Meanwhile, the lowest temperature of this winter season was recorded in Panchagarh on Wednesday. On this day, the temperature in Panchagarh was recorded at 7.8 degrees Celsius. The Tetulia Meteorological Office recorded the lowest temperature in the district at 6 am. After that the temperature further decreased to 7.4 degrees Celsius.

Due to thick fog, the ferry service on the Daulatdia-Paturia route was closed for 8 and a half hours from Tuesday night. According to the Met office, there will be fog for at least 3 to 4 days across the country.

The Met Office said the cold is felt more as the difference between day and night temperature decreases.

The public life of Meherpur has been affected by heavy fog and severe cold for four consecutive days. Cold in Konkan disrupts normal movement. Ignoring the bone-chilling cold on Wednesday morning, low-income working people rushed to look for work. The intensity of winter is increasing with frosty air throughout the day. Visibility is reduced due to dense fog.

The temperature in Chuadanga has dropped further. Chuadanga district reached the lowest temperature of this season. The minimum temperature recorded in the district on Wednesday was 10.2 degree Celsius, which is the lowest of this season. The cold is felt more as the temperature drops. People of Chuadanga are suffering from severe winter.

Chuadanga Meteorological Office observer Tahmina Nacharin said, today the fog cleared quickly. Before 10 o’clock in the morning, the bright sun appeared. But as the temperature drops, the cold is felt more. It can be like this for two days. After that again dense fog and rain are also forecast.
