Metrorail is running on the new schedule

Metrorail has started running on new schedule. On the Uttara-Motijheel route, this movement will start from 7:10 am and will continue till 8:40 pm. 8 trains will run every 10 minutes during peak hours, and 7 trains will run every 12 minutes during off-peak hours.

So far from Uttara to Agargaon it ran from 7 am to 8 pm but till Motijheel it ran till 11:30 pm. Later, considering the demand of passengers, the timing of train movement from Agargaon to Motijheel route has been extended from Saturday.

Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL), the managing authority of Metrorail, has informed this information in a circular.

According to the notification given on the website of DMTCL on Friday, the metro rail movement will start from 7:10 am on Uttara-Motijheel section from Saturday (January 20). This service will continue till 8:40 PM. The time difference (headway) between the two trains will be 10 minutes during peak hours from 7:10 am to 11:30 am, the headway will be 12 minutes during off-peak hours from 11:31 am to 4 pm and during peak hours from 4:10 pm to 8 pm Headway will be 10 minutes.

According to the notification, after 8 pm, only passengers with MRT Pass or Rapid Pass and single journey tickets purchased before 7.45 pm on the day of travel can travel. All tickets will be sold after 7:45 PM.

On December 29, 2022, the metro rail service started from Uttara to Agargaon. Then the movement started from Uttara to Motijheel on November 5 last year.
