Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Mohammad Ali Arafat commented that it is necessary to bring more professionalism and transparency to the media. He said these things during an exchange of views with the leaders of Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) at the secretariat on Wednesday afternoon.
The Minister of State for Information said, ‘There is a need to bring more professionalism and transparency in the mass media. These issues should be addressed immediately. Misuse of mass media is also never desirable. In this regard, the owner-journalist needs the cooperation of all parties.’
Arafat said, ‘Initiatives will be taken to ensure that the institution through which the mass media is managed survives, as well as those who work in the institution. Then there will be some sort of balance. It is also important that the employees of the organization can live a good life. This matter must be confirmed from reality.’
The Minister of State for Information expressed his determination to work on the conspiracies against the country. Besides, strategic steps will be taken to brighten the image of Bangladesh in the outside world by countering the propaganda against Bangladesh, he said.
