Discussions about voting in Habiganj-4 constituency have become crowded around the 12th National Assembly elections. Awami League candidate Mahbub Ali and independent candidate Barrister Syed Syedul Haque Sumon are expected to have a tough competition among the nine candidates of this seat. Mahbub Ali has the vote bank of tea workers and Syed Syedul Haque Suman has popularity among the youth.
Election wind is blowing in Habiganj-4 constituencies. Awami League, Jatiya Party and various parties and independents are competing in this seat.
However, Awami League candidate State Minister for Aviation and Tourism Mahbub Ali and independent candidate Barrister Syed Syedul Haque Suman, who did not seek nomination of Awami League, are considered as heavyweight candidates here. Voters say that there will be a tough competition between them.
Awami League candidate Mahbub Ali is popular among tea plantation workers. His supporters say, ‘Our forefathers have always voted for the boat brand, we will also vote for the boat.’
On the other hand, Syed Syedul Haque, a popular personality on social media, is popular among young people. Barrister Sumon’s supporters say that barrister Sumon will get 85 percent of the votes in terms of popularity among the people.
Awami League leaders hope to win again by claiming the seat as their base.
Habiganj District Awami League General Secretary Alamgir Chowdhury said, ‘We have a tally of votes here. Here are the tea workers in the tea garden. They are the beneficiaries of this government. They are always voting by boat. In the long 10 years there has been great development. This is the Awami League seat, the boat will win.’
Total voters in Habiganj-4 constituency are 5 lakh 10 thousand 720 people.
