The accused who was sentenced to death was a lover of foreign affairs. Ashikuzzaman (27) is the son of Nasirul Alam of Chengachal area of ​​Barura upazila of Comilla. The deceased Sharif Uddin is a resident of Bhadraghat area of ​​Kamarkhand upazila of Sirajganj district.

According to the details of the case, on the night of January 15, 2020, Sharif Uddin, the officer-in-charge of Palli Vidyut Samiti-1 of Comilla’s Barura Upazila, was killed in his rented house by his wife Himu and his wife’s paramour. Ashikuzzaman. The next day, wife Himu filed a case of robbery and murder at the police station after arranging the incident of robbery. Later, the investigation of the district detective police revealed the real incident. Himu and Ashikuzzaman were accused in the charge sheet of the case.

Additional PP Md. Abu Yusuf Munshi said, ‘Himu, the wife of the deceased Sharif, hit her husband on the head with a hammer with the help of her estranged lover. He later died on the way to the hospital due to hemorrhage. After the testimony of 17 witnesses in this case, the court sentenced them as they were found guilty. As Himu has three minor children, the court sentenced him to life imprisonment and the other accused Ashikuzzama to death. Besides, he fined each of them 50,000 taka.
