The Ministry of Home Affairs has written to the IGP not to allow any kind of political program except election campaign from December 18. The Home Minister said in the Secretariat on Wednesday that this step has been taken to implement the directives of the EC. At the time, he said that the railway accident in Gazipur was planned. The minister also commented that this incident is a conspiracy to overthrow the government.

The Election Commission (EC) wrote to the Ministry of Home Affairs on Tuesday to ban all political gatherings from the allocation of symbols on December 18 to the polling on January 7. The Ministry of Home Affairs sent a letter to the IGP on Wednesday to implement this directive.

In the Secretariat, the Home Minister said that political programs have been asked not to be allowed to make the polls fair and beautiful. He also said that there was no violation of the constitution.

Asaduzzaman Khan said, ‘I think he (CEC) has given the instructions so that the elections are fair, beautiful and normal. We think that whatever he (CEC) is doing, our security forces from the Ministry of Home Affairs will do what he (CEC) is doing to ensure that the elections are held properly, beautifully and impartially.’

He also said that those involved in the train accident in Gazipur will be brought under the law soon, and that such incidents are a conspiracy to overthrow the government.

The Home Minister said, ‘We believe that we will identify all the master planners of this incident and catch them soon.’

The home minister also said that it has been confirmed about those who threw petrol bombs at the court late at night in Paikgacha, Khulna.
