Labor leader Babul acquitted in Gazipur car burning case

Babul Hossain, General Secretary of Garment Workers’ Solidarity, has been released from Gazipur District Jail. After serving 69 days of imprisonment, he was released on Tuesday evening at 6:30 PM, confirmed the District. Tariqul Islam

According to prison sources, Babul was arrested on the night of November 14 from Chandana Chowrasta in Basan police station area of ​​Gazipur city. Later, when he was arrested in the car burning case and taken to court, the court ordered remand. On November 21, the lower court rejected his bail plea in two cases. Then he got interim bail from the High Court on January 10 this year.

Tariqul Islam of Gazipur District Jail said, ‘Labor leader Babul Hossain’s bail papers arrived at the jail and after verification, he was released around 6:30 on Tuesday.’

Taslima Akhtar, President of Garment Workers’ Solidarity, complained to the journalists and said, “Although he got bail on January 10 in the car vandalism and arson case, he was not released due to legal complications. Babul was supposed to be released from prison last Wednesday. We were waiting for him at the jail gate that day.’
