Kishoreganj has recorded the lowest temperature in the country today Friday and yesterday Thursday. On Friday morning, a temperature of 9.6 degrees Celsius was recorded in Haor-dominated upazila Nikli of Kishoreganj.

This official said, ‘The lowest temperature of the country was recorded here at 9.6 degrees today. Before this, the country’s lowest temperature of 10.3 degrees was recorded in Nikli of the district on Thursday.

‘Observatory activities have started in Nikli since 2014. The lowest temperature was recorded here for two days this year. Never before has such a minimum temperature been recorded.’ Jahedul Islam Masud added.

According to the Meteorological Department website, apart from Nikoli in Kishoreganj, Chuadanga recorded the lowest temperature in the country today (Friday) at 9.6 degrees Celsius.

According to the information of Meteorological Department, the cold will increase slightly tomorrow Saturday compared to Friday. Today, cold current is flowing over Kishoreganj, Chuadanga, Pabna and Dinajpur. There is a risk of cold throughout this month.

Meanwhile, Abdus Sattar, Deputy Director of Kishoreganj Agricultural Extension Department, said, ‘Severe winter has started to affect the boro paddy cultivation in Haor area of ​​Kishoreganj. If the severity of the winter lasts, the boro plantation may be adversely affected, including the destruction of the boro seed bed.’

Meanwhile, low-income people including ‘day ani din khai’ agricultural workers, day laborers, rickshaw pullers are in trouble due to severe winter and dense fog. In severe winter, their bread earning is almost stopped. They have folds of worry on their foreheads.
