Former Health Minister Khandaker Musharraf Hosan, a member of the BNP Standing Committee, will be taken to Singapore again for better treatment. His younger son Barrister Khandaker Maruf Hossain informed this information.
Barrister Khandaker Maruf said, ‘Father suffered from brain haemorrhage. His physical condition is not good. The father is being taken to the National University Hospital in Singapore on Sunday on the advice of Evercare Hospital doctors. We have completed all preparations to take him to Singapore on a Singapore Airlines flight at 11:30 pm.”
His son, Barrister Maruf, has asked for prayers from the party leaders and countrymen for his father. Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain is now undergoing treatment under the supervision of Prof. Khandaker Mahbubur Rahman, neuro specialist doctor at Bashundhara Evercare Hospital. On June 16 last year, he fell ill at the end of BNP’s announced Mahanagara BNP North Padayatra program and was rushed to Evercare Hospital.
Later on June 27, he was admitted to the National University Hospital of Singapore. After more than two months of treatment there, he returned to Dhaka on September 5. After that, when he fell ill again, he was admitted to Evercare Hospital on December 5.
After Ziaur Rahman founded BNP, Professor Khandkar Mosharraf Hossain of Dhaka University was made the student affairs secretary of the party. He has been serving the top local duties of the party as a member of the party’s standing committee for a long time.
Khandaker Musharraf was the minister in Khaleda Zia’s government in 1991, 1996 and 2001. He was the Health Minister in Khaleda Zia’s cabinet last year in 2001.
