BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, who is undergoing treatment at Evercare Hospital in Dhaka, has been taken from the cabin to the Coronary Care Unit (CCU) as her condition deteriorated. He was shifted to CCU on Tuesday afternoon.
BNP Chairperson’s press wing member Shamsuddin Didar confirmed this information to the media.
Former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia is admitted to Evercare Hospital in Dhaka since August 9. During this time, he was taken from the cabin to the CCU several times. He has been suffering from various diseases including liver complications, kidney problems, heart disease, diabetes, arthritis for a long time.
Khaleda Zia’s treatment is being monitored round-the-clock by a 19-member medical board headed by Professor Shahabuddin Talukdar, a specialist doctor at Evercare Hospital.
Khaleda Zia, after her conditional release from 2020, is undergoing treatment at a hospital under a medical board headed by cardiologist Professor Shahabuddin Talukder.
On February 8, 2018, Khaleda Zia was sentenced to five years imprisonment and sent to Old Dhaka Central Jail in the Zia Orphanage Trust corruption case. Later in the same year, he was convicted in another corruption case. Amid the coronavirus outbreak, the government issued an executive order on March 25, 2020, temporarily releasing Khaleda Zia on the condition that she stay at her home in Gulshan and not leave the country.
