A Jubo League leader was beaten to death in Sonargaon upazila of Narayanganj. The incident took place at the CNG stand in Magherchar area of ​​the upazila on Thursday afternoon.

It is known that the deceased person’s name is Nazrul Islam Bhuiyan. He is the son of Subed Ali of Noagaon village. Nazrul was the co-editor of Noagaon Union Jubo League.

Citing witnesses, the police said, Nazrul hired CNG to go from Magherchar area to Bhulta Gauchia in Rupganj in the afternoon. At that time, the other CNG driver at the stand asked him to get down and pass the CNG in the line. He got involved in an argument with the driver and the people at the stand. At one stage they beat and injured him. Later he was rescued by the locals and taken to Araihajar Health Complex where he died at seven in the evening while undergoing treatment.

Inspector in-charge of Taltala outpost Saiful Islam said that the police went to the spot and recovered the body and sent it to Narayanganj General Hospital for post-mortem. Efforts are underway to identify and arrest those involved in the incident.
