Jatiya Party candidate Sabbir Ahmad has withdrawn his candidature from Sylhet-5 constituency, complaining of lack of fair and impartial election environment.

He announced his withdrawal from the election in a press conference on Wednesday evening.

Sabbir Ahmad is serving as the Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of Jatiya Party and the convener of Sylhet District Jatiya Party.

At this time, he said, although the government and the Election Commission have promised free, fair and impartial elections at various times, nothing has been confirmed in reality.

He alleged that his campaign leaflets were also torn at different places.

More benefits are being given to government party candidates. Sabbir Ahmed also complained that when Awami League candidate campaigned by playing the microphone, he often broke the code of conduct. Therefore, he thinks that it is not possible to hold elections in such an environment.
