The Appellate Division suspended the bail of expelled UP Chairman Mahmudul Alam Babu, the main accused in the Jamalpur journalist Nadeem’s murder case.
A 5-member appellate bench headed by the Chief Justice gave this judgment today on Thursday. Babu’s 6-month bail granted by the High Court has been suspended.
Earlier on September 19, the High Court granted six months interim bail to Babu. Later, the state applied to the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court on September 20 seeking suspension of the bail order of the High Court.
It is to be noted that Banglanews journalist Golam Rabbani Nadeem was injured in a terrorist attack in Pathati area of Bakshiganj on his way home after work on June 14 last year. He died at Mymensingh Medical College Hospital at noon the next day.
