Joe Biden’s letter to Sheikh Hasina, expressing willingness to work together

US President Joe Biden has written to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressing his determination to work together to achieve Bangladesh’s economic goals. In his letter, President Biden said, ‘The United States is committed to supporting Bangladesh’s ambitious economic goals and partnering with Bangladesh in our shared vision for a free and open Indo-Pacific region.’

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed that the US Embassy in Dhaka has delivered the letter to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. US Ambassador Peter D Haas met the Secretary of State at Rashtriya Guest House Padma this afternoon.

In that letter, the US President wrote, ‘I would like to express my administration’s sincere desire to continue working on regional and global security, economic development, climate change and energy, global issues as the two countries begin the next chapter in the US-Bangladesh partnership’.

In his letter to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the US president wrote, ‘We have a long and successful history of working in health, humanitarian aid, particularly for Rohingya refugees, and many other areas, and the strong bond between our peoples is the foundation of this relationship.’
