The Jatiya Party has announced to participate in the 12th National Parliament election, stating that the election environment is satisfactory. This announcement was made by the party’s general secretary Mujibul Haque Chunnu. Apart from this, he also said that an agreement has been reached with Awami League on the seats of the senior leaders of Jatiya Party.
Earlier, Jatiya Party Chairman GM Quader is meeting with the top leaders of the party. The leaders of the party are also meeting with Awami League regarding seat sharing in the parliamentary elections. There is dissatisfaction in the party over not getting the desired seats.
Rumors were that Awami League wanted to give up some seats to keep the Jatiya Party in the election, but they were not satisfied with that.
On November 15, the election commission announced the schedule of the 12th national parliament election. According to the schedule, the vote will be held on January 7.
